Don't squander your financial blessings

Have you ever wasted a financial blessing, through unwise choices? I think many of us will say yes, but today we want to ensure that never happens again. Sometimes I think money isn't flowing the way we desire because often we aren't prepared to manage it well.

Frequently people say they would do things differently if their incomes were larger. I'm not convinced that statement is true, I am of the belief how we manage our finances when the amounts are small will be the same behavior when the amounts increase. Foolish spending has caused many to blow through a once in a lifetime opportunity of financial gain. A few years ago I received a settlement from a car accident which I primarily used to pay off debt, there were no vacations, my concern was debt relief. Squandering the money wasn't an option for me. However, I could have done several things differently which would have allowed for a portion of that money to be making money for me this very day. Had I made wiser decisions regarding investing and saving. Biblical principle reminds us, "There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up" {Proverbs 21:20}. Don't foolishly misuse your financial blessings. We are unstuck and we are free.

I know many who have but thankfully I’ve learned over the years to avoid it as much as possible. It’s required discipline and sacrifices, but it’s paid off in many ways so I’m grateful for the wisdom God’s instilled in me in this area.
