Let It Go!

How long will we hold on to the past? We often exist in the present but live in what was or what could have been. Not realizing that we're stealing from the only time we really have. This moment. With the mistakes I've made in my life the lesson I've learned is to keep going. I've come to accept the fact that the past isn't going to change, I can't go back and fix it. What I can do is accept what happened, learn from it and look ahead. At a point we must become tired of dragging the past with us. Each moment of our lives is an opportunity, a gift to do better. If I messed up yesterday today I can decide to do something different. Yesterday's mistakes does not have to be repeated today. Scripture reminds us in Isaiah 43:19 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. How long will we dwell in the former years, the former mistakes? It's not God's best for our lives, he is ready to do something new in us and for us. I had to make the decision to stop talking about what happened. It's done, thinking or speaking about it only causes me to live the experience again. I no longer live in the past, I have made the choice to live in the here and now. To let go of what didn't work and focus on what's happening in the present. We cannot progress ahead while dwelling in the past. Let it go and open your eyes and heart to what God is doing in the now. I will not miss the blessings of today because I've chosen to be stuck in the mishaps of the past. I hope today's post inspires you to let go of the past and really live in the now. And never forget, we are unstuck, and we are free!
